This collection consists of items of the Grand Army of the Republic, George H. Thomas Post No. 5 of Olympia, WA. There is a photographic copy and a negative of the Roster, which appears to have been a wall hanging. There is an alphabetical roster of 262 members who joined from 1881-1922. The roster gives the member's service record, age at joining the Post, date of transfer or death and place of birth. There is a minutes book that covers May 30, 1881; Feb. 24, 1885; Sept. 19, 1925-Mar. 7, 1931 and included separately are the Post minutes for 1923. There are programs for annual encampments at Everett, Olympia and Cincinnati.

Maud P. Mitchell was born about 1883 in Oregon. She married Chas. R. Mitchell and by 1920 they were living in Chehalis, WA. Charles was an assistant cashier at the bank. Charles had become a banker by 1930. Between 1957 & 1958 Charles passed away. And Maud passed away on 29 May 1960 in Chehalis, WA.
